St. Luke’s Chess Championship

S.A
On Tuesday, May 31, two Middle School students received trophies for winning their respective sections at the annual St. Luke’s Chess Championship. Cameron Clavelli ‘28 won the novice division, and Jack Aronian ‘27 claimed the top prize in the championship division, becoming the youngest St. Luke’s school champion ever. All St. Luke's faculty, staff, and students were invited to compete.

Head of School Mark Davis and Head of Middle School Amber Berry were pleased to present the trophies. Chess Coach Alvin Hamilton reflected on the remarkable depth of his teams and their future. “We will have competitive squads for years, led by players like Cam and Jack along with Jack’s sister, Laurel Aronian ‘25, who recently won the Connecticut State Girls K-12 Championship as a ninth grader.”

Congratulations, Cameron and Jack!
