St. Luke’s Faculty & Staff: New Roles & Milestones

V. Odenbach
Familiar Faces in New Roles

During faculty and staff meetings, Head of School, Mary Halpin Carter, announced that several people were moved into new roles this school year:

Assistant Director of College Counseling Matt Ward was named St. Luke’s new director of athletics, as shared in this letter at the end of last school year from St. Luke's former Head of School.

Director of Alumni Relations Stefanie Veneruso will replace Matt as our new assistant director of college counseling. A search for our next alumni director has begun — starting with outreach for potential candidates within our own alumni community.

St. Luke’s designLab has two new interim leaders. Zachary Brusko, St. Luke’s computer science teacher, will be the Upper School designLab Department Chair, and Kimberly Gerardi, one of our designLab educators, will take on the role of Middle School designLab Department Chair.

The Middle School Administrative team is growing with familiar faces in new roles. Mark Chuhta is now the assistant head of Middle School for student life, and Katie Boorse (Mersky) is the assistant head of Middle School for academics. They are joined by Susan Hunter Garnett '06 (currently on maternity leave), who will be our fifth and sixth grade level dean, and Rachel Lang, who will be our seventh and eighth grade level dean.

Teaching Fellow Sally Zuckert ‘15 will begin the year as a full-time Upper School English and history teacher. Also, Upper School Math Teaching Fellow Elisabeth Howard joins the Science Department with a full-time position teaching Physics.

After a year away from the Hilltop, Susan Sarrazin has returned to St. Luke’s as our Middle School world language chair.

We would also like to introduce Upper School English teacher Emily Walsh and Upper School math teacher Dave Burnham as the Class of 2026 Deans.

Faculty & Staff Milestones

Dr. Carter was joined by Jim Foley, Assistant Head of School for Leadership and Innovation, to celebrate the numerous faculty and staff entering milestone years of service at St. Luke’s. The veterans pictured above represent the 25 year or more club.
