Two Seniors Named Semifinalists in the 2023 National Merit Scholarship Program

V. Odenbach
St. Luke’s seniors Daniel Gall and Jack Sullivan were recently named semifinalists in the 68th annual National Merit Scholarship Program. They are among 16,000 high school students nationwide who will compete for one of the 7,250 scholarships.

Daniel and Jack qualified as National Merit Scholarship recipients after taking a preliminary SAT/National Merit Scholarship Qualifying Test (PSAT/NMSQT®). Semifinalists represent about 1% of all high school students in the country.

As semifinalists, Daniel and Jack will submit details about their academic records, participation in school and community activities, leadership abilities, and honors and awards received. To be considered a finalist, candidates must have an outstanding high school academic record, be endorsed by a high school official, and write an essay.

Winners of the 2023 National Merit Scholarships will be announced beginning in April 2023.

Congratulations, Daniel and Jack!
