Senior’s Welding Sculptures on Display

Sean Lynch, Upper School Art Department Chair
Next time you are on campus, stop by the Class of 2019 Art Gallery to admire senior Charlie Grunow’s sculptures. Charlie reflected on his work, "I have a passion for welding and creating sculptures from scrap metal around my home workshop. My passion for creation has expanded from simply wanting to create a singular sculpture to practicing welding as a craft to creating multiple sculptures, each meaning more to me than the previous."

Charlie, who created the works in his home workshop, approached Upper School Art Department Chair Sean Lynch about the possibility of displaying his sculptures in the spring. “After seeing Charlie’s works in progress and enthusiasm, I immediately assured him that we would assist in making it happen," shared Mr. Lynch.

Charlie Grunow's sculpture will be on display through mid-October.
