Alec LeBris '95 Receives Distinguished Faculty Award
St. Luke’s School Science Teacher Alec LeBris received the Edward B. Blakely Distinguished Faculty Award. Named after the school’s founder, the Distinguished Faculty Award is presented annually to a faculty member who exemplifies the school’s founding values of excellence and character.
Associate Head of School and Chief Financial Officer Julia Gabriele presented LeBris with the award at St. Luke’s annual State of the School, saying: “In student surveys, kids regularly describe Alec’s unique ability to teach complex concepts in an un-intimidating and clear manner. His deep love and care for kids comes across daily, whether through tackling tough coursework, coaching defensive lacrosse strategies, or fun and lighthearted banter in the lunchroom. . . Alec LeBris, you are the epitome of an exceptional educator.”
LeBris lives in Redding with his wife, Erin, three children, and dog. After graduating from St. Luke’s in 1995, LeBris attended Bowdoin College, then earned a master's degree in chemistry at the University of Rhode Island. He returned to St. Luke’s in 2001 to teach Upper School Science (specifically Chemistry) and coach girls' golf.
