Personal Finance


The Personal Finance summer enrichment course will offer an overview of introductory concepts such as checking and savings accounts, credit cards, and budgeting among other topics. The goal is to demystify the essentials surrounding how money is made, saved, and transacted in the digital age.

Students will encounter budgeting for their first experience away from home, seeking out ways to minimize and manage debt, and learning of the benefits of compound interest. Additionally, time will be devoted to reading rental agreements, as well as terms and conditions of leases for apartments and cars.

Led by Upper School Math teacher Dave Burnham, this course is intended for rising sophomores through graduates of the Class of 2021.

We are pleased to offer students the choice to attend this workshop in person at St. Luke’s School or online via Zoom.  On the registration page, you will find “on campus” and “online” enrollment options to select from.
