SLS PA: Inaugural Poker Night Deals a Winning Hand of Fun

Jenn Kubick

The PA dealt a winning hand of fun last Friday evening as they hosted the inaugural Poker Night. With 30 players of all skill levels participating, the Fireplace Commons became the epicenter of excitement and competition, creating an unforgettable evening. This full-house event combined thrilling poker games, delicious food, and a hearty dose of camaraderie as participants engaged in a battle of wits.

In a poker showdown that stretched on for hours, three standout players emerged as the night's champions: Jen Millones, a parent to Macy '23, Grady '25, and Lucy '27,  won the top spot, securing the coveted first-place trophy. David Parsons, US History teacher and the parent of Andrew '22 and Gavin '27, and Jason Giffen, the Director of Admissions at SLS and parent to Wyatt '27, rounded out the top three.

The SLS inaugural Poker Night went beyond cards; it provided an opportunity for parents and SLS staff to unite through bonding, laughter, and diverse talent displays. Poker Night's success has the parent community eagerly anticipating the next exciting event!
