Staff Position Opportunities Development Manager Part of a team of five development staff, the Development Manager is responsible for the Raiser’s Edge database, gifts administration and data management, prospect research, and the moves management system. The position also provides general support for mailings, events, campaign administration, and other Development activity.
The Development Manager reports to the Director of Development. (Development is considered a year-round activity at the School and thus a 12-month appointment.)

Minimum Qualifications
- B.A. or equivalent work experience
- Detail-oriented and highly organized
- Ability to multi-task and meet goals
- Excellent interpersonal skills
- Ability to write and proofread well
- Special events experience preferable
- Knowledge of Raiser’s Edge or another development software preferable
Responsibilities:
Gifts Administration
- Generate all tax letters
- Send out pledge reminders
- Maintain SPAC theater seat naming opportunities and other naming opportunities
- Run donor lists for annual bulletin
Data Management
- Input and manage address changes and other constituent information in Raiser’s Edge database
- Process all gifts, prepare cash receipts and checks to be handed off to the business office; keep online scans of tax letters
- Reconcile gifts with the Business Office at month-end and year-end
- Create and maintain hard copy files of donors
- Support development staff in their data needs, e.g. running reports, setting up appeals, etc.
- Responsible for management and regular clean-up of database and its information, including accurate constituency information, addressee and salutations, business information, duplicate information, table management, lost address, deceased, do not solicit, contact management, tribute gifts
Prospect Research
- In charge of prospect research for the office, conducting research, inputting prospect research data in Raiser’s Edge, and assigning lifetime gift capacity ratings with the Director of Development and major gifts officer
Campaign Management
- Administer campaign by arranging meetings, taking minutes, and managing moves management system in Raiser’s Edge
- Oversee moves management system in Raiser’s Edge and keep Head of School, Development staff, and volunteers on track with their donor meetings and assignments; record results of donor meetings in Raiser’s Edge and insert next steps
- Create constituent profiles
- Manage naming opportunity program and campaign events
Development Support
- Provide direct administrative support to Development Director
- Support development staff with assistance in annual fund mailings, major donor updates, special events invitations, and other mailings
- Support special events execution
P.A. Liaison
- Liaison with P.A. on annual benefit, educating them on IRS regulations, checking the language on their printed materials, inputting information into Raiser’s Edge, and helping them with the raffle permit process, etc.
