Summer at St. Luke's

Ceramics

This course has been cancelled.

The health and wellbeing of the community is our top priority at St. Luke's School. Our leadership team is monitoring the Coronavirus situation closely and will continue to do so all summer long.  In light of the circumstances, we are pivoting to a distance model for Summer at St. Luke’s in 2020, with remote learning experiences affording the surest means of engaging meaningfully with students and families alike while also ensuring the safety of one and all.

This Ceramics Workshop will give participants the opportunity to take that ceramics class that they have always wanted.  In this five-day experience, participants will be taught the techniques required to make bowls on the potter’s wheel. Participants will also learn how to trim their bowls and to glaze them.  By week’s end, they will have produced original kiln-fired ceramic pieces that they can take home and enjoy.

This workshop will be lead by Sean Lynch who is the Upper School Art Department Chair at St. Luke's and teaches Ceramics, Painting, Drawing, and AP Art History.  Mr. Lynch holds a BFA from Rhode Island School of Design and a MALS with a concentration in Art from Wesleyan University.
