9th Graders Gear Up With Exam Workshop

VGP
From 9th Grade Deans Abby Bielski and John Higgins:

On Saturday, February 20, 67 ninth graders arrived on the Hilltop for our inaugural freshman pre-exam workshop. From 9am-12pm, students prepared for March exams by learning content-specific strategies and review activities for their core subjects. We worked with the students to help generate three strategies/tasks for each class. The ninth graders were determined, focused and became comfortable with not only new study strategies, but also with the physical exam space.

By the end of the workshop, students seemed confident and prepared for their first 90-minute, comprehensive, high school exam. Students heartily tucked into some well-deserved pizza to conclude the workshop. The class of 2019 once again demonstrated how willing they are to work hard and get the most out of their freshman year at SLS. We continue to be impressed and proud of our exceptional students. Thanks to Daphne Teittinen-Schreck, David Parsons, and Evan Downey for their assistance during this workshop.
