Girls Varsity Tennis Wins New England Championship
The team defeated St. Mark's School 5-3 in the finals.
On Sunday, May 22, the St. Luke’s girls varsity tennis team capped off a historic season with a New England Prep School championship title. After earning their first ever selection to the New England Tennis Championship, the girls tennis team didn't show any signs of resting on that noteworthy accomplishment. Instead, they put together an impressive showing in a full day of quality tennis. The Storm defeated Cheshire Academy and Greens Farms Academy to earn a spot in the finals against the #1 seeded St. Mark’s School. The results of the championship match were as follows:
#1 doubles: Cierra Kitt and Hannah Amendola lost 2-8
#2 doubles: Elizabeth Laub and Maddie Harris won 9-8 (7-4)
#3 doubles: Cameron and Cayley Stonehouse won 8-1
#1 Singles: Elizabeth Laub lost 1-6, 0-6
#2 Singles: Cameron Stonehouse won 4-6, 6-4, 10-6
#3 Singles: Cayley Stonehouse lost 2-6, 4-6
#4 Singles: CIerra Kitt won 7-5, 6-3
#6 Singles: Maddie Harris won 2-6, 6-1, 10-4
