9th Grade Trip to Met Museum: History Through Art

VGP
From Upper School World History Teacher Abby Bielski:

On June 1, 9th grade students visited the Metropolitan Museum of Art to celebrate their year studying Ancient History. Students prepared for the trip by recording a two-minute analysis of a specific work of art. Focusing on what they have studied, students did an excellent job situating these works in cultural context. With the help of Academic Technologist Matt Bavone, students uploaded their recordings to a radio podcast app called Spreaker. We crafted the recordings into playlists and created a student-made audio guide. Students spent two hours gallery-hopping while listening to their peers explain each work along the way. A special thank you to Chris Clark and the Flick staff for packing a tremendous picnic for us which we enjoyed in Central Park.

If you are planning to go to the Metropolitan Museum soon, we invite you to download the free Spreaker app and listen to our student’s thoughtful commentaries. After downloading Spreaker, search MET Playlist 1, MET Playlist 2, MET Playlist 3, or MET Playlist 4 to enjoy our students' hard work.
