Dear St. Luke’s Alumni,
I had the privilege of participating, alongside the Administration, Trustees, and Alumni, in the School’s extended interview process to identify someone to fill David Hirx’s shoes. Without a doubt, we got the best…
Kristin White joined us in September after 21 years at Westover School, in Middlebury, Connecticut, where her experience spanned from admissions, to development, to marketing. After graduating from Skidmore with a BA in English, she returned to Westover, her high school alma mater, where she joined Admissions and quickly became the Director of Admission and Financial Aid. After eight years in Admissions, Kristin joined the Westover Development Office, where she served as Director of Annual Giving for three years before planning and launching the School’s first Marketing and Communications Office. As Director of that office, she oversaw all advertising and press relations, managed print and online publications, developed social media campaigns, and oversaw a complete branding overhaul.
Since 2003, Kristin was a member of the Westover English Department faculty. Unable to get enough of the classroom, Kristin is working on her MBA through Harvard Extension School. Kristin, her husband Scott, and their two children live in Waterbury. She enjoys gardening, reading, and supporting her children’s basketball teams.
In her two short months on the Hilltop, Kristin and the Alumni Association have launched two new successful initiatives, a Vineyard Vines fundraising event for the Athletics Department on October 21, and a recent social media campaign, #givingtuesdaysls, which piggybacked on the national effort to rally financial support for non-profits. Kristin also played a role in the October Whitcomb Event, honoring our beloved Headmaster Emeritus, Dick Whitcomb, through which St. Luke’s raised more than $1.3 million dollars for the financial aid scholarship in his name.
Kristin is engaging, motivated, and fun, and I look forward to the rest of the St. Luke’s alumni body getting the same chance I have had to get to know her. Her door is open and her phone is on. Drop by, call, or send her an e-mail on anything from an introduction, to your thoughts on our current alumni programs, or your ideas for potential new initiatives. You will be hearing directly from Kristin in the coming weeks, but for now, please join me in welcoming her to the St. Luke’s Community.
Sincerely,
Dj Wolff ‘03
