Little did World Language teacher Susan Sarrazin know what an ambitious albeit fun project it would be to make the costumes for the Middle School musical production of James & the Giant Peach. With just one sewing class taken years ago and guidance from Director Leo Mahler and Technical Director John Conners, she got to work. In the end, Sarrazin helped create the approximately forty costumes in the show, doing everything from hemming to making outfits from scratch (with a special thanks to the St. Luke’s parents who helped along the way).
Sarrazin said, "I gained a greater appreciation for all the incredible detail put into these productions, from the costumes to the lighting and everything in between. It has been an exciting learning experience for me, but I am looking forward to catching up on some sleep."
Come see the Middle School production of James & the Giant Peach this weekend: Friday at 7:00pm and Saturday at 3:00pm in the Seldin Performing Arts Center. Free admission and open to the public.
