St. Luke's Jack Quinn '18 Wins Award in Local Writing Contest

D. Smock
Kudos to senior Jack Quinn whose non-fiction essay entitled "The Fugitive Slave Act of 1850: The Tipping Point" earned him an award in the Bedford Free Library's 2018 High School Writing Contest. His essay was written initially as an assignment in his Honors United States History course taught by Upper School History teacher Mitch Murphy who shared: "Jack is an inquisitive student who has worked extremely hard to improve his research and writing throughout the year.  His efforts have paid off with writing assignments that are clearly structured, informative, and supportive of his thesis." The annual contest is open to high school students residing in the Bedford Central School District (NY). The Bedford Free Library announced this year's winners on their website.
