Boys and Girls Varsity Basketball Teams Victorious on Senior Day
The St. Luke's basketball program honored Jalen Latta, Shannon Smith, and Kit Hammil.
The boys and girls varsity basketball squads honored their seniors on Tuesday, January 26, and Saturday, January 30, respectively. Prior to the games, the coaches and parents of the players presented the seniors with flowers and a plaque commemorating the players’ time in a St. Luke’s uniform.
The boys team honored Jalen Latta ’16, and Shannon Smith ’16. Both Latta and Smith have been mainstays in the St. Luke’s basketball program and were honored accordingly. With help from Latta and Smith on the court, senior day was a resounding success as the Storm defeated a tough Masters team 77-57.
On the girls side, the lone senior, Kit Hamill, enjoyed “Kit Day.” Like Latta and Smith, Kit has been an important part of the basketball program for as long as she has been a student at St. Luke’s. The team’s celebration of Kit’s basketball achievements proved to be a good luck charm as the Storm cruised to a 73-35 victory over Millbrook School.
