Debate Season Concludes With Osterweis Debate

VGP
From Bilal Memon ‘18:

On April 17, three St. Luke’s students competed in the 35th annual Rollin G. Osterweis Debate Tournament: Eliza Posner, Chloe Kekedjian, and me, Bilal Memon. The tournament began promptly (a rarity in the high school debate world) at 9:30am. Eliza and Chloe lost round one in a tragic upset. They won the remaining three rounds, ending the day with an impressive 3-1 record. I, along with my partner from AITE (Academy Information Technology & Engineering), went undefeated in the four preliminary rounds. We were allowed to continue into the semifinals and defeated a Choate team on a consensus decision.

Unfortunately, that is where our winning streak abruptly stopped. We faced, and lost, to a fellow AITE team. After a rollercoaster of a day, which concluded the 2015-2016 debate season, Chloe and Eliza came in 9th place and my team came in 2nd place.
