St. Luke’s just concluded its 10th annual World Language Week. "World Language Week is a super way to get the whole community enjoying internationally-themed activities, most of which feature languages other than English," says department chair Jon Shee. "We love giving showcases to students - and teachers - so that they can use their languages and share their talents with others."
The week began with Learn-A-New-Language Day and Mousse-Off Part 2 on Monday, followed by a performance and workshop by professional salsa dancer Robert Germosen. Wednesday featured a Lunch & Lead with History podcaster Mike Duncan and dumpling sale by China Care. Thursday was a fun and festive International Dress-Up day and a coffee house, Mr. Shee’s favorite. Friday was highlighted by a group of young singers from Soweto, South Africa that performed during Upper School lunch.
"World Language Week is always a fun time that gets a lot of our community involved,” Mr. Shee says, “We learn about other languages and cultures....and each other."
