Tommy Forese ‘12, a two time captain and Stephen Miller Baseball Award recipient at St. Luke’s, has continued to excel on the basepaths at Colby College. Forese is the captain of the Mules, and is the team’s starting shortstop. Tommy made the All-NESCAC Second Team in 2015. He made 31 starts for Colby and posted a batting average of .333. Tommy led the teams in runs scored, and runs batted in. He was second on the team in doubles and home runs.
Brett Connors ‘12, also a team captain for the baseball team his senior year at St. Luke’s, brought his talents to Siena College where he has been an impact player for the Saints. So far this season, Connors has hit for a .250 average, has scored seven times, and knocked in eight runners. According to Siena’s head coach, "Brett again saw some meaningful action in a reserve role last year offensively and defensively. He will again battle for playing time in the infield, and will need to turn it up offensively when called upon."
Gareth Fancher ‘12, another standout St. Luke’s baseball player who went on to play in college, is now a senior at Franklin & Marshall College where he is a pitcher on the varsity squad. Fancher has racked up some impressive numbers over his career as a Diplomat. In 22.2 innings pitched, Fancher is 2-1 with a 3.18 ERA, and has recorded 19 strikeouts.
Adam Connolly ‘12 was a stalwart goalkeeper for the St. Luke’s varsity lacrosse team. He has also had a stellar career as a goalie in the MCLA for the Southern Methodist University lacrosse team. This season, he posted an impressive 72% save percentage, and had 213 saves. His play earned him the title of Defensive Player of the Year and Most Valuable Player.
