Evan Downey
St. Luke's Boys 5th/6th Soccer defeated Fairfield Country Day in its home opener on Tuesday afternoon.  The Storm was led by Eoin Mueller—who netted two goals for St. Luke's—and a strong performance by Teddy Balkind in net.  Also scoring for St. Luke's were Griffin Labonski and Jack Marshall.  George Foster and Watson Meyer also had a very strong performances in midfield, creating, along with Labonski, numerous scoring opportunities for teammates.  Alex Letters, Bobby Orlich and Charlie Adams put in strong performances on the defensive end.  They disrupted numerous FCDS scoring attacks and fed the midfeild quickly to allow Storm strikers to counterattack.  All in all, St. Luke's had a promising start to the young season.  The Storm return to the pitch on Wednesday afternoon for a 3:45pm tilt against Rippowam-Cisqua School.
