9th Grade Participates in Offsite Workshop

A. Bielski/VGP
From 9th Grade Dean Abby Bielski:

Last Friday, St. Luke’s 9th graders participated in an outdoor, offsite workshop in Norwalk hosted by the Mountain School. The class of 2020 spent the day participating in problem-solving activities, canoeing and building go-carts. Students stepped out of their comfort zones to explore new leadership opportunities with each assigned task while continuing to bond with their classmates.

Our goal was to create a kind and inclusive atmosphere while encouraging students to lead various challenges which they did with great success (with some laughs along the way). We all enjoyed watching our community goals for learning (integrity, curiosity, open-mindedness, and reflection) put into action during this fun day. St. Luke’s chaperones included 9th grade deans—John Higgins and myself—as well as Kate Parker-Burgard, Evan Downey, and Rebecca Bataller.
