Storm Athletes Selected For All-Star Teams

Congratulations to all thirteen of our student athletes who were selected to represent St. Luke’s across multiple sports in the 2016 All-Star games.
 
After an excellent season on the court the St.Luke’s Volleyball team had four girls selected to play in the round-robin tournament in Windsor, CT on 11/12. Bridget Dalton '18 (Outside Hitter) , Gabby Mitchell '18 (Defensive Specialist), Maria Minuesa '18 (Setter), and Elyse Kim '21 (Defensive Specialist and Right Side Hitter) competed with players from over 20 teams in the New England Conference and demonstrated sportsmanship, skill, teamwork, and the strong sense of 'sisterhood' that is a hallmark of the SLS program.
 
The Storm Field Hockey team had sisters Cayley and Cameron Stonehouse ‘17 invited to the WNEPSFHA game which took place at Suffield Academy on 11/13. Head Coach Brinley Ehlers was also selected to mentor one of the teams and the game finished in a 2-2 tie with Cameron scoring one of the goals.
 
Girls Soccer had Seena Panagiotidis ‘17 and Kelly McKenna ‘17 chosen to play in the WWNEPSSA match also on 11/13 at Loomis Chaffe school in Windsor, CT. In an entertaining game St. Luke’s senior winger McKenna provided one of the assists in a 2-1 win for her team.
 
Boys Soccer had Ryan Neafsey ‘18 and Bear Crystal ‘20 play with a host of other talented players throughout New England in their game at Loomis. The game finished with a comfortable win for the SLS boys team.
Jared Soltys ‘17 has also been selected to play in the Senior All star game this Sunday 11/20 with Neafsey representing SLS in the Junior All Star game the same day.
 
In Cross Country, Will Foster ‘17 and Claire Wilson ‘18 have been invited to the annual New England all star meet at St. Mark’s school in Southboro, MA, this Saturday. Both runners have had tremendous seasons finishing second and fifth respectively in their all New England races last weekend. They will compete with 79 other runners with the boys race at 2pm followed by the girls race at 3pm.
