On December 6, the CFL’s annual Nonprofit Holiday Boutique brought many to the Fireplace Commons to shop and browse. The best part was that everything for sale was in support of numerous nonprofit organizations.
Cynthia Davis from Our Woven Community said, "Everything is made by refugees who receive proceeds from the sales. It’s a great opportunity for these African immigrants who have resettled in Bridgeport." She continued, "We even had two of the artists help sell their products. The response from the St. Luke’s community was tremendous this year."
CFL Director of Character Education Kate Parker-Burgard noted, "It was great to have so many St. Luke’s students actively participate in the Holiday Boutique—from the US Service Board members who helped organize it to the many students who sold items for worthy nonprofit groups."
Organizations represented at the St. Luke’s School Holiday Boutique included: B Kind, Community Plates, Kids Helping Kids, Kiva, Heifer, Nagarote Sister City, Our Woven Community, Pura Vida, St. Luke’s Store, World Vision, PAWS, ASPCA, New Canaan Mounted Troop and Wolf Conservation Center.
