From Student Council Advisor Sarah Westerberg
Elyse Kim: Elyse has demonstrated her talents and natural abilities to command a group by leading the MS as the Director of Communications, working with council members and volunteers Jack, Liam, and Luca to transform the Weekly Storm to an online portal with news stories, video clips, trailers and much more. She's had a vision for what this publication could be, evolving it from a one page newsletter last year to an online portal with the help of others. She is creating a legacy for the MS Student Council and students of the future will feel the impact of her work today.
From MS Drama Director Leo Mahler
Adrian Antonioli: Adrian has been an amazing leader and role model to his cast members during this year’s MS Musical. Not only does he work studiously through every rehearsal, but he also models good backstage behavior and helps his peers keep track of where they should be. He is always willing to help out, try something new, or just wait patiently while another group is working. And rather than ignoring or looking down on the younger actors, he treats everyone as a friend and an equal, and his cheerful participation inspires the actors around him to focus and participate as well.
From MS Drama Director Leo Mahler
Jack Laibe: As the stage manager for James and the Giant Peach, Jack has demonstrated exemplary initiative and leadership. Confident, strong, and independent, he balances his roles seamlessly, always knowing exactly when to step up and lead or to step back and listen. When asked to complete a task, he always goes above and beyond, taking the initiative to organize, plan, and communicate the next steps even beyond the original parameters he was given. He is firm with the cast when necessary, but never forgets to be kind, always aware that the actors and techies are his peers. The impact is unmistakable:Jack’s boundless energy, steadfast dedication, and conscious kindness inspires everyone around him and stand as an example for the whole drama team. And we could not possibly do this without him.
