Sophomores Support Nonprofits Preparing for the Holidays

A little snow did not deter the St. Luke’s sophomores as they gathered at Inspirica on Saturday, December 9 to help facilitate a massive wrapping event. Most of the class was there as they created a human chain in order to get thousands of gifts from where they were being wrapped to where they were being sorted and stored for pick up.
Inspirica provides gifts for nearly 3000 children being served by nonprofit organizations throughout Fairfield County. Many other volunteers were doing the wrapping but there was a lot to do to keep them all straight.
The students had a great time. Kayleigh Bowler said, “I enjoyed knowing I was taking part in giving a child a fun holiday.” The students also appreciated how the event really brought the class together as a group. “We made more of an impact as a class than I thought we would,” Mia Mitchell commented, mentioning how they really had to be working in concert with each other to make it all happen. And aside from it being really productive, Ashley Kelley said, “it was a lot of fun!”
