St. Luke's Storm Soccer Stars Honored By State
Dan Clarke
Congratulations to Chase Zammit ‘18 and Lea Panagiotidis ‘20 who were honored at the Connecticut High School Soccer Awards Banquets on Sunday, January 24.
Zammit was a captain of the Boys Varsity Soccer team in the fall and was a stalwart at the heart of the Storm defense. The Norwalk native was selected as part of a 22-man roster for the Prep School Class S 2017 All State Team by the The Connecticut Soccer Coaches Association. “It feels amazing to be selected as an All-State player,” Zammit said: “I wasn’t expecting this but the leadership role I was given as captain really gave me the commitment and drive throughout the season. I am proud to receive this award.”

Panagiotidis, also a Norwalk resident, was a key member of the Girls Varsity Soccer team that was defeated in the semi-finals of both the FAA and NEPSAC tournaments. The sophomore was one of 26 girls from the Preparatory Schools recognized by the Connecticut Girls Soccer Coaches Association: “It was such an honor being nominated for All-State”, she said: “I am really grateful for the award. I look forward to contributing to the team and progressing in the soccer program at St. Luke’s the next couple of years.”
