Kim Davis Joins The Center for Leadership Advisory Council

NBT
St. Luke’s Center for Leadership announced Kim Davis has joined its newly formed Advisory Council. Davis joined the National Hockey League in December, 2017 as Executive Vice President, Social Impact, Growth & Legislative Affairs, where she is responsible for growth and fan development, including leading the leagues’ inclusion and diversity efforts.

“I believe in the work St. Luke’s Center for Leadership is doing,” said Ms. Davis. “The school’s motto is Enter to Learn, Go Forth to Serve. This resonates deeply. I have no doubt that our future depends on the development and nurturing of young leaders who aspire to serve first.”

After meeting Ms. Davis, St. Luke’s Head of School Mark Davis commented: “We strive to create an inclusive community and help students build exceptional leadership skills. Kim brought to life how these skills will come into play in the real world. She made clear that employers place high value on young people who can work well in many settings and with very different teams of people. She inspired us."

Ms. Davis is the seventh member of the Center for Leadership Advisory Council. She joins: Fred Crawford, Senior Vice Chairman, AlixPartners, Mike Gaumer, President of Vineyard Vines, David Pakman, Partner at Venrock, Rich Riley, CEO of Shazam, Jeff Sanders, Vice Chairman, Heidrick & Struggles and Advisory Council founder Chris Wearing, Vice Chairman of Teneo.

Prior to her current role with the NHL, Davis ran the Diversity and Inclusion business unit for Teneo, where she worked extensively with tennis legend Billie Jean King to create the Billie Jean King Leadership Initiative - a non-profit that addresses the critical issues required to achieve inclusive leadership that will lead to significant changes in how women and men operate in the world.

Before joining Teneo, Ms. Davis enjoyed a 20-plus year career at JPMorgan Chase, most recently as Managing Director of Global Corporate Social Responsibility and President of the JPMorgan Chase Foundation. Her responsibilities included leading and managing approximately $300 million in annual giving, employee and civic engagement, and corporate sponsorship programs.

Davis developed, designed and implemented the Spelman Center for Leadership & Civic Engagement, a national leadership center in collaboration with Spelman College. She is a former Trustee of Spelman College and currently serves on the boards of the Bank of NY Mellon Foundation, the Sports & Fitness Industry Association (SFIA), and Communities in Schools.
