Artist Avé Rivera Speaks to 6th-Graders

S.A.
Sixth grade students in Ms. Wulfman’s and Ms. Sarno's art classes had an opportunity to Zoom chat with New Haven-based ceramics artist Avé Rivera.

Rivera’s work, inspired by her love of cartoons, is playful and colorful and often highlights feelings, pop-culture, or clouds. Talking with students, she shared her journey to find her preferred art medium, how her connection to her community and culture shapes her artwork, and how she evolved and grew her own business just a few years out of art school.
