French Students Win Top National Prizes: AATF Media and Video Contest
As part of the 2021 National French Week celebration, St. Luke’s Upper School students used their creativity and French-language skills to create videos that expressed the theme, “Venez découvrir le monde Francophone! Come discover the French-speaking world!” The projects were entered into the 2021 National French Week Media Contest, hosted by the American Association of Teachers of French.
The videos — available to watch below — exemplify Francophone culture. Students wrote their scripts (in French), filmed in front of a green screen, and did video and sound editing. Researching and creating the videos allowed students to discover French music, food, countries, and clothing. In making the videos, students increased their language proficiency and enhanced their leadership, teamwork, and multimedia technology skills.
French students nationwide submitted more than 90 videos to the judging panel.
