St. Luke’s US Spring Play: Mama Won’t Fly

Join St. Luke’s Upper School Theater for Mama Won’t Fly, by Nicholas Hope, Jesse Jones, and Jamie Wooten, on Friday, May 13, at 7:00pm, and Saturday, May 14, at 2:00pm.

As shared by Dramatists Play Service, Mama Won’t Fly tells the wacky story of a mother-daughter, cross-country road trip: "An outrageously hilarious race against the clock begins when Savannah Sprunt Fairchild Honeycutt agrees to get her feisty mother all the way from Alabama to California in time for her brother’s wedding. Savannah’s problem: Mama won’t fly. With only four days to make it to the ceremony, this determined daughter has no choice but to drive cross-country with her equally willful mother, Norleen. As Savannah steels herself for this hastily conceived road trip, another outrageous complication arises: the bubbly, over-eager bride-to-be, Hayley, arrives unannounced. Every conceivable — and inconceivable — mishap that can occur, does occur. As the misadventures multiply, the beleaguered trio rapidly develops the urge to ditch each other anywhere along the way. In a surprising and heartwarming resolution, they forge an exciting new path for their own relationship and welcome Hayley into their delightfully wacky family.”

Reservations and tickets are not required, but all attendees who are eligible for the COVID-19 vaccine are expected to be fully vaccinated. Please contact St. Luke’s Theater Department Chair John Conners if you have any questions.
