Student-athletes returned to the Hilltop on Monday, August 22, to begin their preseason preparations and enjoy a welcome-back barbeque
All Upper School fall teams met and practiced at the same time, before coming together in the Forese Family Fireplace Commons to celebrate being back on campus.

New Athletic Director Matt Ward welcomed everyone and gave a brief overview of his philosophy for St. Luke’s athletics.

Head of School Mary Carter-Halpin then shared how excited she was to see our student-athletes reconvene and how they have the opportunity to be part of something very special this school year.

All six sports teams have been working extremely hard during the past two weeks to get ready for the season ahead. Daily practices have included workouts with the Bluestreak trainers in the Wellness & Fitness Center, in addition to on-field training with our varsity and JV coaches.

Ward has been impressed with what he has seen from both players and coaches and looks forward to watching the teams compete this fall: “Our coaches and kids have been working extremely hard and have already developed such strong cultures within their programs. I’m extremely excited to see them compete again.”
