Cross-Divisional Volleyball Tournament Builds Program Community

Abby Abbott, Middle School Volleyball Coach Staff
In late October, the entire St. Luke’s volleyball program participated in the sixth annual Maroon and White Tournament. This event, organized and run by our varsity captains, Catalina Hendricks '23, Olivia Lee '24, and Sam Stevelman '23, was developed to build teamwork, community, and excitement for the game.

In an effort to build strong intra-team relationships and connections, each team included a mix of varsity, JV, and Middle School players. Our youngest players were in awe of our oldest players, who embraced the leadership opportunity and served as fantastic mentors. To close the tournament, the varsity team recognized an outstanding Middle School player from each team by crowning them as royals of the court.

Although team GREEN emerged victorious, the tournament was an overall win for the St. Luke’s volleyball program. Go, Storm!
