Faculty & Staff Prioritize Strategic Plan Initiatives

On April 19, St. Luke’s faculty and staff gathered for the last of four meetings dedicated to enhancing the Strategic Plan and making important decisions about priorities. They were joined by members of the Strategic Planning Committee who provided updates and by trustees Chris Wearing and Rich Riley who co-chair the committee. The goal of these meetings, in Head of School Mary Halpin Carter’s words, was “to pour our best thinking into the plan that belongs to all of us.”

Strategic consultant Ian Symmonds has facilitated faculty & staff meetings. Symmonds employed group discussions and reporting to draw out faculty and staff feedback that will influence how the plan is operationalized. Taking a cue from St. Luke’s recent Building Campfires community building event, April’s meeting featured small breakouts of three people discussing strategic questions posed by Symmonds. Each prompt was designed to uncover the most pressing and high-value priorities for St. Luke’s.

"The Seldin Center was literally buzzing with energy and animated conversations," said Director of Equity & Inclusion Jacqueline Nelson, a strategic planning team member. "It's so important to get this broad spectrum of feedback about priorities from the people who will make this plan a reality. Our colleagues never fail to bring new ideas to light.”
