SLS vs. NCHS Scrimmage

The St. Luke’s Varsity Tennis Team scrimmaged against the New Canaan High School Team yesterday (4.16) in a non-league match, losing 5-2. The two teams played five singles matches and two doubles matches (as opposed to the usual four singles, three doubles format), with St. Luke’s taking the #1 and #3 singles matches.

At #1, Chester Murray of S. Luke’s defeated John Mannely 6-4, 6-2. New Canaan High’s Ben Lee won at #2 over Alex Magill, 6-1, 6-0. Roy Skinner was the other winner for St. Luke’s, beating Kevin Budawich 6-1, 6-2. Brad Rippe of NCHS won a three-setter over Joe Sciarrino at #4 singles, 6-7, 6-3, 6-0, while Conner Hedley beat Jora Dhaliwal of St. Luke’s 6-2, 6-0.

In doubles, Andrew Hornblower and Sam Rashin beat the St. Luke’s team of Costa Kensington and Sam Sheehy 7-5, 6-3. In the #2 doubles match, Oliver Citrin and Austin Reed defeated Malcolm Burnley and Kevin Mahoney of St. Luke’s by the score of 6-0, 6-3.
