SLS cannot add the finishing touch

Rich Williams
The boys played well and created numerous chances against Canterbury but could not find a way past the opposing GK.  25 shots on the Canterbury goal, 16 of them on target were all successfully repelled by the away side who managed to convert their 9 shots and 6 on target into a one goal victory.  A lot of credit goes to the Canterbury rearguard action, they defended manfully and counter attacked effectively all game.  The away side's goal came not laong after the interval a 25 yard deflected volley dipped wickedly just under the Crusader's crossbar giving AB little chance in the SLS goal.  SLS never gave up the fight for the equalizer creating good chances right up until the very last second of the game.  Overall the performance was good, the effort was outstanding but unfortunately the result did not follow.  Back to hard work on the practice field for the FAA clash with Masters on Tuesday.
