St. Luke's J-Term: The Video

DSmock
Congratulations to the Class of 2018 and Upper School faculty members who successfully kicked off St. Luke’s inaugural J-Term, or January-Term. A novel approach to learning, J-term moved students out of the traditional classroom setting and into a project-based, student-led learning experience. Ninth graders identified problems in our community or the world (human rights issues) and for 8 days worked together to research the issues and develop solutions. Guided by teacher-facilitators, students directed the process and engaged in research, brainstorming, and collaboration. Students then creatively presented their findings at a symposium at the close of the J-term session.

Please watch the experience unfold in this video of highlights from St. Luke’s first J-Term
