Creative Minds Converge at Columbia Scholastic Press Conference

On Monday, November 2, twenty SLS student writers traveled to NYC to attend the Columbia Scholastic Press Association annual Fall Conference. Sentinel staff members heard professional writers speak about topics such as "the digital newsroom," "typography," and "careers in journalism." Representatives of the Pendulum learned about writing monologues, creating visual poetry, and listening to the underlying sounds of word and sentences. "It was a blast," says senior Sentinel Editor Bailey Vehslage. "There was a great vibe on the Columbia campus."
