St. Luke's Boys Varsity Basketball Drops Marianapolis Prep in HoopDreamsMag.com Prep Classic

The team looked exceptional against a talented Marianapolis Prep team.
St. Luke's defeated Marianapolis Prep 66-39 on Sunday afternoon in the HoopDreamsMag.com Prep Classic Showcase at Bunker Hill Community College in Charlestown, MA.  St. Luke's played gritty team defense to lock down the Golden Knights offense and hold star center 6'7" Dominique Senat scoreless.  On the offensive end, the Storm used strong ball movement to break down the Marianapolis zone, allowing them to get to the rack and to kick out to shooters for good looks at the rim.  Once again, St. Luke's featured a balanced scoring attack with four players in double figures, including Jonas Harper, who led the way with 19 points.  Walter Whyte contributed 18, while Joel Boyce scored 14, and Jalen Latta had 12.  Shannon Smith also had 3 points.  Andrew Varoli, John Wisdom and Colin Meany all had excellent games on the defensive end, getting deflections, grabbing loose balls, blocking out and grabbing rebounds as the Storm dominated the Golden Knights on the glass.  St. Luke's returns to the hardwood on Monday afternoon for a 4:45pm tilt against league rival reigning FAA champions Hopkins.
