Vive la Host Families

VGP
Have you ever thought it would be a new and fun experience for your family to host a student from another country for a short period of time? Here’s your chance. From April 10-21, St. Luke’s welcomes 15 French students from our Paris partner school Saint Michel de Picpus. The students come here eager to fully immerse themselves in “la vie américaine” and improve their English language skills. We still need eight or nine more families to host 10th grade girls. You don’t need to speak any French to host and it’s open to both Middle School and Upper School families.

Hosting is a great hands-on way to participate in St. Luke’s global studies. It is a rewarding experience you won’t regret (and it never hurts to make new friends in Paris). Host families are responsible for getting their student to and from St. Luke’s and including them in daily family activities during their stay. St. Luke’s coordinates some events and host families are also encouraged to make their own plans with their students. You’ll be surprised what you’ll learn when seeing our country through the eyes of someone who has spent little or no time in the United States.

We’re looking forward to St. Luke’s 10th year welcoming students from our partner school, Saint Michel de Picpus, in Paris, France but we need your help to make it a success. If you are interested in hosting, please contact Beth Yavenditti (yavendittib@stlukesct.org) for more information.
