Strong Showing At State Debate Final

VGP
From Debate Coach Abby Bielski

On April 2, thirty-one schools and 180 debaters participated in Connecticut Debate Association's (CDA) State Finals at Wilton High School. St. Luke’s proudly brought six members of its Debate team to compete: Alex Levy ‘16, Eliza Posner ‘16, Chloe Kekedjian ‘18, Bilal Memon ‘18, Hunter Conetta ‘19, and Andres Falcon ‘19. In order to qualify for these State Finals, students are required to place first in at least one previous event.

Seniors Eliza and Alex finished their CDA career on a high note; placing 5th and 4th speakers overall, respectfully. Additionally, Chloe and Eliza earned third place, overall, as a team. All of our SLS students expertly debated the following resolution: The US should resettle a significant share of Mideast refugees. We are so very proud of our team's hard work this year and are delighted to celebrate this strong finish.
