Girls Varsity Tennis Sweeps Holy Child in Home Opener
The girls varsity tennis team won their home opener against the Holy Child School in stunning fashion.
On Wednesday, April 20, the girls varsity tennis team dominated in their home opener against the Holy Child School. Not only did the talented group of girls not drop a match, but they did so without dropping a single set.

#1 Singles: Elizabeth Laub ’18 def. Caroline Pace: 6-4, 6-3
#1 Doubles: Hannah Amendola ’19 and Cierra Kitt ’19 def. Madeline Fitzwilliam and Noelle Summo: 6-0, 6-0
#2 Doubles: Virginia Mahoney ’16 and Emma Tregellas ’17 def. Emily Muller and Jacqui Pace: 7-6 (7-5), 6-0
#3 Doubles: Grace Fitzgibbon ’19 and Maria Minuesa ’18 def. Christina Rocco and Ruthie O’Driscoll: 6-4, 6-3
The dominance shown in the regular lineup was also displayed in the team’s two exhibition matches. Maddie Harris ’19 defeated Maddie Fitzwilliam: 8-1, and Clare Armstrong ’17 and Sadie Vehslage ’20 defeated Phoebe Lynch and Julia Perusse 7-5, 6-2.
The Storm began the season with a tough loss against Hopkins, but quickly bounced back with a 4-3 win over a talented Greens Farms Academy team. With the win against Holy Child the Storm are now 2-1 on the season. The girls varsity tennis team will look to continue their winning ways in their next home match against Greenwich Academy on Monday, April 25.
