SLS Vertical Garden Work Continues at Stamford’s STEMfest

VGP
From Science Teacher David Havens:

Last Saturday, Marco Volpitta '20 and Jack Briggs '21 represented St. Luke’s at the annual STEMfest gathering and workshop at Mill River Park in Stamford. During STEMfest we worked on a new garden as well as explained the process to dozens of people that stopped by St. Luke’s table. The most common question asked was how a school might be able to receive one of our gardens. Jack even spoke with Stamford Mayor David Martin who wanted to know more about our gardens.

We are currently building a garden which will go to Hart School in Stamford later this month and plan to complete three more gardens before the end of the year. The new units will be given to Northeast School in Stamford and a school in the South Bronx.

Through STEMfest, we made a new connection with Norwalk schools and hope to work with them next year.
