Argentinian Adventures

VGP
On June 9, twelve SLS students and two teachers gathered in the wee hours of the morning to set off for a two week exchange program at our partner school, St. Martin in the Fields, in Buenos Aires, Argentina. After a long voyage there, the group was welcomed with breakfast and excitement when they arrived. The students went to join their host families and the real adventures began.

While in Buenos Aires, the students attended classes, taught classes, and explored the many sites of the city from the famed Recoleta cemetery to the neighborhoods of La Boca, San Telmo and Palermo to further afield in Tigre. They learned about and experienced life as a porteño (one who lives near a port city). The group also had the chance to travel further afield and visit the city of Posadas where they worked with children at the Hogar Santa Teresita, a home for underprivileged girls. They visited Iguazu Falls, a spectacular sight and enjoyed time exploring the park and animal sanctuary there.

It will be exciting to see our Argentinian friends again when the St. Martin students and teachers visit St. Luke’s in the spring.

To see some of the great adventures they had, view the extensive St. Luke’s in Argentina June 2016 photo gallery.
