Lunch & Lead with Krishna Patel

VGP
From Director of Character Education Kate Parker-Burgard:

Last Thursday, the Center for Leadership hosted Krishna Patel as the Lunch & Lead guest speaker. Patel currently serves as General Counsel and Director of Justice Initiatives at Grace Farms Foundation, a private operating foundation located in New Canaan. As Director of Justice Initiatives, Patel focuses on, among other things, combatting and eradicating modern day slavery. Her background working with the U.S. Attorney’s office gave her a lot of experience fight against crimes against humans. She discussed how trafficking affects us locally: from well-known companies that use slaves in production lines, to the sex slavery within Connecticut. Members of our St. Luke's Model UN helped host her and they are also engaged in the effort to combat human trafficking.
