St. Luke's Students Run Charity Basketball Event

Dan Clarke
St. Luke’s Juniors Jack Quinn and Noah Bailey organized and executed a 3v3 charity basketball tournament between May 21-24 to raise money for The Naomi Berry Diabetes Center.

The event was open to all Upper School students and faculty members with teams restricted to a maximum of two varsity players per team.

The tournament took place after school in the Athletic Center Gym with the final taking place on Thursday, May 24. The team, comprised of Cole Bryant ‘20, Mack Lemkau ‘20, Lewis Cropper ‘21, and Jack Sanders ‘21, was crowned the 2018 champion.

Bailey was pleased with their first event. “Jack and I wanted this to be a fun way to play some basketball, hang out after school, and raise some money for charity," he said. "I think we accomplished all our goals and look forward to holding similar events in the future.”

Quinn added, “We learned a lot from this experience. We have to be very organized and communicate well. We are very thankful for the training staff of Ms. Anna and Nicole for staying late that week as well as Ms. Parker Burgard and Mr. West for their support.”
