Parker-Burgard Named Center for Leadership Director

A familiar face takes the reins of St. Luke’s Center for Leadership (CFL) this fall. Kate Parker-Burgard, a founding member of the CFL, will serve as its new Director. She has been Acting Director since Dr. Stephanie Bramlett’s departure.

Head of School Mark Davis made the announcement saying: “Kate is a rare combination of pure heart and sharp mind. During fifteen years at St. Luke’s, she has earned the admiration and respect of her colleagues and Head of School.”

“I’m lucky to be working with a strong team in the CFL,” said Parker-Burgard. “We want every student in our school to recognize and evolve their unique ability to lead and move their communities forward. Through moral courage, effective communication skills, and deep empathy, all our students can realize their potential and all they have to contribute to the world.”

Parker-Burgard started her career at St. Luke’s in 2003 as the Dean of Students. She was also Director of Community Affairs before assuming her most recent role as Director of Character Education in 2011. Prior to joining St. Luke’s, Parker-Burgard was the Dean of Students at Lake Forest Academy. She holds a BA with a concentration in Religion from Hamilton College and a Master of Divinity degree from Union Theological Seminary. She was ordained into the United Methodist Church. She presently serves on the Connecticut Association of Independent Schools (CAIS) Professional Development Commission.
