St. Luke's Student Named National Merit Semifinalist
St. Luke’s senior Georgia Rosenberg was named a semifinalist in the 64th annual National Merit Scholarship Program. She is competing with approximately 16,000 academically talented high school seniors across the country for some 7,500 scholarships worth more than $31 million.
According to the National Merit program, “All Semifinalists must have an outstanding academic record throughout high school, be endorsed and recommended by a high school official, write an essay, and earn SAT scores that confirm the student’s earlier performance on the qualifying test.” More than 1.6 million juniors in about 22,000 high schools entered the 2019 National Merit Scholarship Program by taking the 2017 Preliminary SAT/National Merit Scholarship Qualifying Test, which served as an initial screen.
In February 2019, Georgia will learn if she has advanced to the Finalist level. All National Merit Scholarship winners will be selected from this group and their names will be announced on a rolling basis beginning in April.
