St. Luke's Show-Stopper Musicals: Legally Blonde & Hairspray, Jr.

VGP
If you’re feeling the winter blues, the St. Luke’s Theatre Department has the perfect remedy—two feel-good musicals: Legally Blonde The Musical and Hairspray Jr.

The Upper School is presenting the fun and funny Legally Blonde The Musical. Based on the movie Legally Blonde, the play follows the transformation of Elle Woods as she tackles stereotypes, snobbery, and scandal in pursuit of her dreams.

The Middle School is performing the family-friendly movie-turned-musical Hairspray, Jr. This perky play takes place in 1962. It follows the spunky teen Tracy Turnblad as she pursues her desire to dance while holding onto her belief in social justice. The characters’ personalities in this play are as big as the laughs.

The Upper School’s Legally Blonde The Musical will be presented on Friday, February 20 at 7pm and Saturday, February 21 at 2pm. The Saturday evening performance is canceled due to forecasted snow.

The Middle School’s Hairspray Jr. will be presented the following Friday, February 27 at 7pm and Saturday, February 28 at 3pm.

Both performances are free and open to the public. The musicals will be presented in the St. Luke’s Seldin Performing Arts Center.
