Dan Clarke
The Girls Varsity Squash team picked up their first win of 2017 with a resounding 7-0 victory over FAA rival Rye Country Day School on Thursday afternoon.

After a tough loss to Greenwich Academy on Monday, January 9, the Storm bounced back to improve their overall record to 2-3 after defeating the Wildcats at SLS.

Kendall Boege ‘19 and Valentina Jaramillo ‘19 then both recovered from losing their first games to win their matches 3-1 to give St. Luke’s an early 3-0 advantage.

Further wins from Eleanor Bailey ‘17, playing in the #3 spot, and from Katherine Pellegrino ‘19 and Olivia Schwartz ‘19 saw the Storm extend their lead to 6-0 before Captain Natalie Bachman ‘17 capped off a fantastic afternoon with a 3-0 win in the #1 matchup.

Next up for GVS is a road trip to another FAA rival, King, on Tuesday, January 17, at 4.30pm
