Great Turnout for Inspirica-St. Luke’s Walkathon

V. Parker
From Director of Character Education Kate Parker-Burgard:

At least 150 people gathered in Stamford on Sunday, September 24 for our annual Inspirica-St. Luke's 5K Walkathon. Together we walked more than 750 kilometers to raise both awareness about homelessness and funds to help break its cycle.

This was first started by St. Luke’s students five years ago and has since become a cornerstone of our partnership with Inspirica in nearby Stamford. With recent natural disasters on our minds, we decided to donate a portion of our proceeds to a homeless shelter in Houston.

Thanks to a generous sponsorship from GE as well as the eager fundraising of members of the St. Luke's and Inspirica communities, we raised over $14,000 to aid people who are homeless both near and far. Many thanks to everyone who participated.
